Tin Shed Rattlers

About Us

The band started in 1971 when a group of local musicians from Wagga Wagga (plus a couple from Canberra), formed what was then called "The Downside Bush Band".  Downside, because that was/is the name of the municipal hall where the band performed...and still does.

Although there is still one survivor from the original line up, some thirty-odd musicians have passed through the ranks of what has become a colourful part of the area's musical history.  During the past thirty something years, "The Rattlers" have played gigs right throughout the Riverina District of NSW (and beyond) and their stoic refusal to take themselves too seriously is most probably the reason for the band's popularity and longevity.

Instruments

And whilst there is a strong Irish influence; Scottish, English, American and the occasional European jig, reel or polka can just as easily 'get a guernsey'.

Or there's the songs...Australian Bush Ballads, American Blues, Rags or an old Western Song...or something 'modern'.
