Instrument: Uilleann pipes (plus small amounts of guitar, mandolin and whistle).

Length of time in band: 1 year

Previous musical experience:

Violin was the first instrument I ever played. That only lasted a few years, though. If I’d known about folk music I might have kept playing!

Played recorder, clarinet (and a little bit of bassoon) at school.

I’ve done heaps of singing: choirs, opera, operetta and other classical stuff.

This is the first band I’ve played with, so it’s a big learning experience for me!

Q: If you see an accordion player and a Morris dancer in the middle of the road, which one do you run over first?

A: The accordion player, because it’s business before pleasure.
